"Hello, I’m Emilia! I am a Swarthmore College graduate with a double major in Astrophysics and Linguistics and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honors society with 5 years of experience working as a tutor and teaching assistant. I have tutored middle school, high school, and college students in learning and applying physics, ELA and linguistics, and levels of math from algebra to calculus and beyond. I am equally comfortable tutoring virtually (via Zoom or other platforms) and in person.

As a tutor, I work to focus on the individual needs of my students and emphasize learning strategies to cover difficult content that will lead them to achieve and sustain long term success in the classroom. I emphasize reinforcing the fundamental skills students need in order to fully understand the content they are learning and apply it in a variety of situations. I enjoy getting to know, working with, and learning how best to support each student I teach!

In my free time I love to play the clarinet, do crossword puzzles, watch baseball, and spend time with my friends, my family, and their cats!

As a tutor, I love to watch my students grow in confidence and ability. I come from a family of teachers and hope to pursue a similar career. As part of this career goal, I will be pursuing an MsC in Physics in the future while continuing to work as a tutor.
