"Hello! My name is Joy, and I'm an upcoming college freshman studying medicine at a competitive BS/MD program.

I’m currently new to Wyzant, but I have over four years of tutoring experience in local communities. I teach many genres of creative and academic writing, including poetry, short stories, flash fiction, and essays, as well as many levels of math: Algebra I/II, Geometry, Statistics, Pre-Calculus, Calculus AB/BC and SAT Math. I also led a summer course on SAT/AP prep and helped review college application essays and resumes.

Some of my qualifications include receiving a score of 1590/1600 on the SAT and 1500/1520 on the PSAT. Similarly, I scored 5s on fifteen AP exams, including Physics C: Mechanics, Calculus BC, English Language and Composition, Computer Science A, and U.S. Government. I graduated high school with Summa Cum Laude honors and a 5.0/5.0 GPA. Subject-wise, my writing has been recognized by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, newspapers, and other competitions. I was accepted into several highly selective universities and programs, including Ivy League schools and a BS/MD program with an acceptance rate under 3%.

As a rising college freshman, I bring the most up-to-date insight into AP classes, the SAT and PSAT, and college applications, giving my students an edge that reflects today’s academic standards.
