"Hi! I’m Verna, I started in medicine as a paramedic with a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Care in which I graduated Magna Cum Laude. My passion for medicine encouraged me to learn more! While pursuing my Medical Doctorate from Oceania University of Medicine, I virtually worked with students to understand concepts required to pass the United States Medical Licensing exams. My experience teaching, combined with six years as a paramedic applying anatomy and physiology in clinical settings, equips me to create engaging, evidence-based curricula for diverse learners in nursing/EMT, anatomy and physiology.

For 3 years, I have helped individual graduate students walk through questions to get to the correct answers. My goals for students are to find ways for them to understand complex topics so they do not have to memorize. If you understand, then you can think through any question presented to you!
