"Hello! My name is Mikul, and I am a senior undergraduate student pursuing a B.S. in Neuroscience alongside a B.A. in a premedical Liberal Studies degree. I know firsthand how stressful high-stakes exams can be, and my goal is to provide the mentorship and strategic support to help you succeed. In my own experience, my favorite professors were those that were able to walk with me through concepts and meet me at my level of understanding, so my biggest aim will to be to provide that for my students. I specialize in MCAT preparation, having recently achieved a 523 score (131 C/P, 129 CARS, 131 B/B, 132 P/S). My approach is built on the methods I have used as a teaching assistant for Integrated Biology and Chemistry. This primarily centers on problem-based learning to foster critical thinking skills as opposed to simple memorization, but I find it equally important to pause for conceptual questions to build students' understanding along the way.

I have experience in SAT preparation as well, backed by my own 1570 superscore (800 Math, 770 R/W). Furthermore, I am well-equipped to help with challenging undergraduate courses, as I currently tutor students in introductory level biology and chemistry courses and have a deep background in the material through my own coursework.

My teaching philosophy is built on patience, adaptability, and collaboration. I have experience with a wide range of learners, from tutoring elementary school students who were behind relative to the Common Core curriculum, many with attentional and learning challenges, to first-year university students. This has taught me how to break down complex topics and adapt my approach to your unique learning style.
