"Hello! I'm Jacob, a first-generation, biochemistry graduate from the University of Minnesota. My journey began at Augsburg University where I conducted three years of research in applied marine biology. The bulk of my research was on Red and Blue Tuxedo Sea Urchins. However, I also explored several topics on corals and fish such as Ningaloo Reef Clownfish and Yellow-Belly Damselfish. Throughout that time, I also played collegiate-level football as a wide receiver where I served as team leader.

The pandemic paused my research and athletic pursuits but opened new avenues. I understand the challenges that students may face when their education is changed to a unique venue. This led me to finish my undergraduate time at the University of Minnesota. Since that time, I have spent much of my time gaining experience in clinical research in critical care at the Mayo Clinic. My current research relates to extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, both performed in the operating room and emergency department.

As the first person in my family to navigate college and the pre-medical field, I have a passion for helping those in a similar situation. In my tutoring and coaching journey, I have assisted high school and college students in navigating the complex worlds of biology, biochemistry, and chemistry. I have tutored each of these subjects for nearly five years.
