"I came to teaching relatively late in life, having first spent more than 20 years representing my country overseas as a Foreign Service Officer, specializing in economic matters. I've been tutoring, both online and in-person, for about seven years now, mostly in economics. I've tutored clients from elementary through graduate school. Since 2017 I've been teaching economics at an urban community college and at a satellite campus of a state university. I studied economics at the graduate level at Harvard and the London School of Economics.

My approach to tutoring is to help students learn what they need by working through problems together so that they can then solve them on their own. I think the best way to do that is to use the materials provided by their instructors, then supplement them as necessary to fill in gaps or provide reinforcement. Please note I will not do the work for you or aid and abet acts of academic dishonesty. I encourage students to ask questions and move at their own pace, and I always try to provide some real-world context whenever possible.
