"I'm Ryan! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Spanish and completed my MBA (Master's of Business Administration). I have a wide range of interests and experience that I bring to the table as a tutor. I use some of the techniques I learned in chess to engage my students as their tutor. It is beneficial for me to understand my students and their goals so that each session we are working towards their goal while growing each week in their advancement through the session. I want to be sure to provide beyond what is available in a typical classroom environment.

I have always enjoyed learning about different cultures and tutoring students afford me the opportunity to do just that. As a student, I have always enjoyed English and Spanish. I love languages and have enjoyed the success of my students learning English or Spanish in a short amount of time. I have watched my students pass the necessary exams and certifications required from our private lessons when I taught abroad.

I have over 5 years of teaching students in ESL and also in Spanish and I worked directly with different students outside of class time to help with whatever assistance they need with grammar, pronunciation, oral comprehension, reading, writing, and listening. Usually, I adapt my lessons to the students' needs in whatever they need help with, but I also try to focus on important skills that are necessary to become proficient in English or Spanish while using grammar worksheets, games, listening exercises, and role-plays with the teacher. I have also done IELTS and TOEFL preparation mainly in the summer for those that are interested in preparing for these specialized exams. For these exams, I have a set curriculum that I like to follow for both IELTS and TOEFL to aide the student in the thorough preparation that they need.
