"Hi, I'm Eric. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physics and a minor in Mathematics. During college, I experienced a range of teaching styles from different professors, and this made me realize just how much easier and more enjoyable a class can be when you have a professor that truly understands how to teach. Having a professor that was willing to reach out and connect to students to help them do their best really made a world of difference to how much I learned in those classes. I try my best to emulate the behavior of these professors in my tutoring and do everything I can to make learning an enjoyable experience. My lesson plans are designed to build off what a student already knows so that they can achieve their learning goals. When I plan a lesson, my goal is not only to help students to solve problems, but to ensure that they understand the problem well enough so that they can confidently explain not just what the process is, but why it works and how they can use it to solve other problems.
Over the past five years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with everyone, from middle schoolers encountering algebra for the first time, to college students working on calculus problems, I’ve helped more students than I can honestly remember. Most of my tutoring experience has been in math, but I also have experience tutoring physics and helping students prepare for the ACT and SAT. I’ve had the chance to support students in one-on-one settings, in small groups, and even in full classrooms, and through it all I’ve learned how to adapt my tutoring to different learning styles and paces. Whether a student wants long-term support, or help preparing for an upcoming exam, I aim to make each session clear, encouraging, and tailored to their goals.
My priority is to give every student a positive learning experience and a sense of progress they can feel proud of. If you have any questions, want to discuss your goals, or would like to schedule a session, I’m happy to talk. I look forward to helping you succeed." less...
