"Hi, I’m Elizabeth! I graduated from Swarthmore College with a Bachelor of Arts in Astrophysics and a minor in English. I love learning and helping others learn.

I have a year of tutoring experience since graduating as well as two years of peer tutoring experience during high school. Additionally, I have been working for the past year as a substitute teacher in the Honolulu public school district. I have worked with a wide variety of students from different backgrounds, including a recent long-term position with elementary school students. I am substituting with the goal of becoming a full-time high-school science teacher in the future.

In addition to working as a tutor, I have experience in astrophysics research studying stellar winds. I’m also an avid reader and aspiring fiction writer who’s worked at my local library and bookstores. I am enthusiastic about sharing those passions with my students, especially those who may struggle to enjoy reading.

I have experience tutoring all grade levels from elementary school to college. I specialize in math, physics, and English tutoring, as well as SSAT, SAT, and ACT prep. During sessions, I supplement student’s classwork by exploring the material through different perspectives relevant to their interests, to encourage a complete understanding of topics.
