"Hi! I’m Alexandra, a current junior at the University of Miami pursuing a B.A. in Economics. I’ve always had a passion for teaching, especially helping students who feel intimidated by math or writing. I used to be terrified of functions and equations myself, so I know exactly how discouraging it can feel when a concept doesn’t “click.” Overtime, however, I learned to appreciate the conceptual beauty of mathematics and the “why” behind each idea, which is precisely what I strive to highlight in each of my lessons.

Beyond math, I’m also deeply interested in good writing and what makes an essay effective. Whether it’s a research paper, a persuasive argument (or even something more creative) I love helping students organize their ideas, build strong thesis statements, and write with clarity and purpose.

I’ve been tutoring middle school students since I was in high school, and over the years I’ve also supported high schoolers in both math and writing. My experience ranges from early algebra foundations to pre-calculus and calculus concepts, along with essay development skills. I prefer one-on-one tutoring because I believe it allows me to understand each student’s individual thinking process and tailor explanations that genuinely make sense to them.
