"Hello! My name is Mihir, and I’d love to be your tutor. I’m currently an undergraduate at the University of Illinois, majoring in Statistics and Global Studies. I have been tutoring for over three years, and I’ve had the privilege of helping students of all grade levels and backgrounds improve in math and social studies. I’m positive that together we can build both confidence and a deeper understanding of the material.

With over three years of tutoring experience, I am confident I can help your student succeed. I worked at Mathnasium as a mathematics tutor for over a year, assisting kindergarteners to high school seniors succeed in topics such as algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and one of my personal favorites, statistics and probability! I worked both one-on-one with students who needed specialized help and in group settings, constantly ensuring that the questions of all my students were answered. I also have an additional two years of private tutoring experience, working with high school students in subjects such as math and world history. These one-on-one sessions enabled me to further understand the individual needs of students, working with them to develop effective strategies in their lessons.

I’m really passionate about creating a positive and supportive learning environment. I encourage my students to reach out with any questions they have between sessions, and I always make sure they feel comfortable and supported with understanding material. I love to introduce new material through problems on topics a student is interested in. I ensure a student has ample opportunities to practice what they’ve learned through individualized questions and worksheets. I always make sure students have time to ask any questions between practice exercises and at the beginning and end of a lesson to clarify topics.
