"I have been a tutor with Literacy Volunteers of NJ for several years. I have also volunteered as an after school tutor in New Brunswick. I have certification as a School Media Specialist in New Jersey, which means I am qualified to teach in a school library. I had to take additional education courses for this and complete an internship/field experience working in the Franklin Township school system. Through my training I have learned techniques to interest students of all ages in reading and writing. If problems with phonics exist, I can also find those, by having the student read aloud. I can also challenge them to increase their vocabulary, since I am familiar with resources for different age groups." less...
