"I am currently an undergraduate engineering student at Duke University, pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering with a strong academic focus on mathematics, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving. Before enrolling at Duke, I completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at Bombay International School, where I earned 43 out of 45 points. This rigorous curriculum emphasized higher-level mathematics, sciences, and structured thinking, and it trained me to approach complex problems methodically while clearly explaining my reasoning. In addition, I earned a composite ACT score of 36, with perfect scores in the Mathematics and Science sections, further demonstrating both mastery of quantitative material and the ability to apply concepts under time constraints. Together, these experiences have built a strong academic foundation that directly supports my ability to tutor math across a wide range of levels.

My teaching and tutoring experience is primarily rooted in university-level mathematics. I currently serve as a Lab Calculus II Teaching Assistant in Duke’s Mathematics Department, where I lead lab sections designed to reinforce lecture concepts through hands-on problem solving. I regularly work with undergraduate students in small-group environments, guiding them through challenging topics such as integration techniques, applications of integrals, and conceptual interpretation of results. I also staff Help Room shifts, which involve one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions. In these settings, I adjust my teaching style to match each student’s background and confidence level, whether that means revisiting foundational ideas or working through advanced practice problems. My role in grading quizzes and lab assignments has further strengthened my ability to recognize common misunderstandings and proactively address them during instruction." less...
