"I’m Michael! I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in History and went on to earn my Master’s in the same field from the University of Vermont, where I maintained a 4.0 GPA. While I’ve always enjoyed academic research and writing, what made my education experience most rewarding were the teachers, tutors, and mentors who took the time to make learning accessible, collaborative, and engaging. I try to emulate that same spirit to my own tutoring by meeting students where they are, helping them feel confident in their skills, and making sure the process feels clear and rewarding instead of confusing or overwhelming.

I’m CRLA Level 3 certified and have over three years of tutoring experience through UVM’s Writing Center, where I supported college students across disciplines with everything from refining thesis statements to organizing essays and understanding citation standards. I also worked at a summer writing program for students ages 8–15, where I created lesson plans and led interactive workshops that encouraged creativity and development of ideas. My tutoring style is flexible depending on the student’s needs, but I usually like to start with an open conversation about the assignment or material, walk through strategies together, and leave time for students to apply what they’ve learned on their own.
