"Hello! I'm Katrina, a writer and longtime English tutor. I received my BA in Film from Brooklyn College in 2019 and my MFA in English/Creative Writing from the University of New Orleans in 2023. I've worked as a freelance English tutor for almost ten years with students of all ages, 8 to over 50, both in-person and online. As a TA during graduate school, I taught argumentative writing for two years to college freshmen and high school seniors in New Orleans; since graduation, I've returned to freelance tutoring, focusing on argumentative writing and advanced ESL.

I have a highly personalized, holistic approach to teaching. Most students who struggle with reading and writing believe they're "just not good at it", but I've found in almost every case that my students' difficulties stem not from any lack of potential, but rather from years of incompatible teaching styles and a lack of personalized attention/feedback.
