"Hi everyone! My name is Kayla and I'm currently a Pediatric/Orthodontic RDA that will be attending dental school. I have a strong background in tutoring a wide range of biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry classes, ranging from high school to graduate level coursework. Additionally, I provide tutoring in specialized, upper-division biology courses including Molecular Microbiology, Protein Structure, Parasitology, Neurobiology, and Virology.

During my undergraduate career, I committed 4 years as a Lead Biology and Chemistry Lab Instructor. Simultaneously, I was an Advanced Reading and Math Specialist at Thriving Minds Learning Center, dedicating time to helping special needs students reach grade level curriculum. Soon after, I went on to complete COVID-19 research and graduate coursework. Throughout research, I worked as a peer tutor, supporting students in the sciences.

My tutoring approach is multi-layered. Apart from helping my students solidify and excel in the subjects they are struggling with, my goal is to help them develop lifelong skills and study strategies to utilize throughout their educational career. This could mean addressing organizational skills, study habits, and learning how to effectively prepare for exams.

Aside from tutoring, I offer extensive undergraduate and graduate mentoring. I evaluate personal statements, primary/secondary applications, and offer in-depth interview prep for pre-meds and pre-dents.
