"Hi, I'm Lisa. I’ve been in education for almost 30 years because I love it!

I began my career as a high school English Language Arts teacher, and in 2009, received a prestigious English Language Fellowship with the State Department where I began my overseas teaching career that took me to universities in Egypt and Abu Dhabi where I taught IELTS prep courses, Academic Writing (APA style), and Business Writing courses- online and in person.

My students include international university and high school learners, as well as working professionals who need to achieve a particular test score for employment, immigration, or acceptance into competitive academic programs. I use a variety of media, interactive activities, and authentic practice materials to cater to a variety of learning styles. I'm available for online or in person tutoring.

I hold an MA in TESOL from Cambridge College in Massachusetts, and a U.S. teaching license (ages 15 to adult) in English Language Arts from Cleveland State University and Notre Dame College. In 2021, I was trained by the British Council in Abu Dhabi as an IELTS Speaking Examiner, giving me insider knowledge of the exam and a practical, results-driven approach to helping students succeed.
