"Hello, I am Nick. During my undergraduate years I worked as a teaching assistant for both human physiology and human anatomy courses, where I developed a strong foundation in guiding students through complex scientific material. I also served as a tutor for college-level chemistry, biology, physics, and math, where I honed my skills in adapting to different learning styles and academic needs. For two years, I was an individual tutor, and for three years, I was a supplemental instructor, leading weekly review sessions designed to reinforce core concepts and problem-solving strategies.
After completing my undergraduate degree, I began my path toward becoming a physician by enrolling in a biomedical graduate program with a pipeline to a DO school. This experience deepened my understanding of biomedical sciences and has been invaluable in helping me effectively communicate challenging concepts to students. Over the years, I have successfully worked with students ranging from high school to upper-level undergraduates, and I understand the unique demands at each level of study.
In group sessions of up to 20 students, my focus was on fostering a collaborative environment where students felt comfortable asking questions and engaging with material at their own pace. In my one-on-one tutoring sessions, I am able to tailor my approach to the specific needs of each student, whether it's breaking down difficult concepts, practicing problem-solving techniques, or building confidence in their abilities. My teaching philosophy centers on making complex subjects approachable and relatable, using real-world applications to enhance understanding and retention." less...
