"Hello reader. My name is Wesley, and I greatly enjoy teaching. I have long thought that one of the most wonderful things in life is to see the glimmer of understanding dawn in the eyes of a student. I take great joy every time I see a student begin to comprehend subject matter with proficiency. I believe every student has the fundamental right to feeling confident about their abilities as the learning process occurs. I encourage my students, and indicate to them through time how they have improved. I firmly believe that a knowledgeable and capable student can still perform poorly on exams if they lack confidence; positive reinforcement of increasing control over the subject matter increases the likelihood of better performance. At the end of the day, my goal is to see my students not only understand the subject matter, but also perform well in the class.

When it comes to teaching, I have a great deal of experience, particularly upon the subjects of chemistry, biology and biochemistry. My experience has been acquired first-hand. This experience was finely honed first through many years working as a Teaching Assistant and Assistant Instructor at UC Davis. After graduating from UC Davis with my Candidate in Philosophy, I began teaching at the local community colleges. I have now taught for over 10 years in the Los Rios and Yuba Community College Districts. I have also taught at the UC Davis Continuing Education Program.

Beyond the classroom, I have been pursuing my own private tutoring work since I was a sophomore in high school.
