"I was a graduate student in mathematics and a postdoc at Delaware University. I left academia to work in industry, but I enjoy teaching. I have written dozens of articles and a book on applying mathematics. I'm working on a parent's guide to algebra and book on applying economics to improve environmentalism. I've tutored mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, and programming since 2008 on other sites.

As a graduate student and postdoc, I was a teaching assistant for and then taught calculus, linear algebra, combinatorics, probability, and multivariable calculus, among others. I usually tutor college students, but I have also tutored many high school students and a few graduate students.

I have been tutoring general high school and college Math students for many years. Over the past several years I have tutored individuals privately every semester, both in person and online. I also tutor students at a drop in math center. Additionally, I've taught applied statistics for the social sciences and business. Because of this, I've learned numerous ways of explaining things and numerous ways of figuring things out including calculators and Excel.

I specialize in one-on-one settings, where I connect with students and find the best way to relate to them. With that connection built on mutual respect, I find it much easier to carefully explain concepts in multiple ways to ensure students understand the material.
