"I am a former secondary classroom English teacher and college Composition, Literature, and Study Skills instructor. For over 20 years, I built my expertise in these subjects, and now offer Our Writing Table Tutoring on the Wyzant platform.

My students have possessed a wide variety of skills, interests, and needs, from Advanced Placement coursework qualifications to Basic Skills and Remedial Education qualifications. I’ve attempted to instill in each student the confidence and knowledge that they can achieve in writing well and developing their thinking skills.

My BA is in English and Theater from Coe College, and I hold a MA in English (focused on Rhetoric and the Teaching of Writing) from Colorado University Denver. This school year is my second year volunteer-tutoring with the Literary Arts College Essay Exchange in Portland, Oregon. Together, we work to improve student college admissions essays.

Our Writing Table offers one-to-one writing tutoring; one-to-one study skills tutoring; and college admissions essay coaching. I tutor secondary students, college students, and adults. I genuinely believe I am responsible for focusing on each student’s performance and their journey toward becoming a more authentic learner.

I aim for proof of students understanding a subject and making a sustainable change toward understanding its relevance in today’s world. When students pursue both actions simultaneously, they take more responsibility for reaching their goals and their potential.
