"My name is Jeremy, and I have a passion for tutoring Accounting, Finance and Economics. Before I studied Accounting, Finance and Economics, I had studied and graduated from the Virginia Military Institute with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. The tools I learned as an engineer carried over to the Accounting, Finance and Economics fields. I went back to school at the University of Texas at Arlington where I graduated Cum Laude with B.S. in Economics and a BBA in International Business. I found that I really loved business, so I went to Texas Christian University where I graduated with my MBA with a concentration in Finance. I then went back to college where I graduated with my Master's in Accounting from The College of William and Mary. I have over 12+ years working in the Accounting/Finance Industry. During that time, I have worked for some of the largest financial institutions like Goldman Sachs. While at Goldman Sachs, I worked on the team that built 10Q's and 10K's for the SEC. I also worked for Energy Future Holdings where I was part of the Credit Risk team on the trade floor. During that time, I wrote economic reports to the Vice President of Risk Management. I was also charged with developing interest rate swap valuation models.
With my vast experience in academics and working in the Accounting/Finance Industry, I use what I have learned to give back to my students. I try to use real world experience in my teaching because I believe students learn more that way. I also believe that students should be able to defend what they have learned. I do this by testing them with questions. If a student can defend what they have learned, then you know they have skills and knowledge that will make them successful.
I love working in the industry but there is no greater satisfaction than watching the light bulb go on in a student's head when they learn a topic. Even more rewarding is watching the students go on to have successful careers. So, give me a try!" less...
