"I hold a preliminary Education Specialist credential with a focus on Extensive Support Needs, and I recently completed my master’s degree in Special Education. My academic training emphasized instructional design, assessment, and evidence-based practices for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, including structured teaching, executive functioning supports, and differentiated literacy and math instruction. Through both my credentialing program and professional roles, I learned how to design individualized academic interventions, scaffold complex tasks, and integrate behavior-support strategies into academic instruction.
Professionally, I have taught students ranging from early elementary through middle school in both one-to-one and classroom settings. My experience includes teaching students with autism, intellectual disabilities, and other learning differences using direct instruction, visual supports, modeling, prompting, and data-driven progress monitoring. In my ESN classroom, I provide one-on-one academic intervention, whole-group instruction, and individualized supports aligned to IEP goals. I also have experience tutoring outside the classroom, where I focus on foundational literacy, reading comprehension, written expression, math problem-solving, and executive functioning strategies tailored to each learner’s needs.
Across all settings, I prioritize building a supportive learning environment, teaching through clear routines, breaking tasks into manageable steps, and using strengths-based approaches to foster confidence. My background allows me to meet students where they are and apply instructional methods that help them make meaningful, measurable progress." less...
