"I am entering my first year of teaching full time in the fall. I have spent the last year in a fellowship through Boston Public Schools, earning my certification in teaching English from 5-8 grade. This year I have been teaching full lessons across 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in Math, Science, English, and History. My area of strength is in the humanities, particularly how to teach reading and writing to ensure a lot of student growth in a short amount of time.

I have a strong passion for learning and igniting that fire within students. I know how important it is to utilize the summer months to keep our brains working and taking advantage of the intellectual downtime. Though a lot of my educational experience is at the middle school level, I have worked with high schoolers in the past through service programs and volunteer work.

As a student, I scored fives on both the AP Language and the AP Literature tests.

I have my MADoE teaching certification for teaching English at the secondary level, grades 5-8. I have training through the Sposato School of Education, which emphasizes the importance of looking closely at student work and identifying an area of growth for each lesson. I would tutor with this same approach, where I would have a goal set for each session based off of the work they produced in a previous session. Each session would be very goal oriented, where it doesn't feel like a single moment is wasted.

I am flexible, dependable, and friendly. I am willing to work around any schedule to ensure the student can get as much practice and help as they requested. I know how important it is to have a reliable tutor and I can provide that consistency and reliability. I love spending time with people and learning their individual quirks! Everyone learns differently and I can cater to those needs." less...
