"Hello! I graduated LSU in 2012 with a BA in English with a concentration in Secondary Education. I had extensive experience in the classroom during my time in college, my student teaching semester was spent with 130 students in 11th grade English at a public school in Baton Rouge, LA. I passed the Praxis in 2012, was certified to teach in Louisiana, but promptly moved to California and took a somewhat different life path.

I did homeschool my step son for grades 7 and 8, our focus was to boost his grades and wealth of knowledge enough that he could get into a specialized high school, which we accomplished beautifully.

Additionally, during the first year of COVID lockdowns, I tutored two 3rd graders and 5th grader. They were struggling greatly with distanced learning and they each took their grades from C’s or C equivalent to A’s or A equivalent. Although I did not specialize in early education, I did study it enough that I have found success in tutoring younger kids as well.

I take an holistic approach to learning and teaching, preferring to interact with students and their parents to figure out what methods of learning suit them in order to best position them for success. I have no preference for tutoring locations, in the home, at the library, at a park, wherever works for you.
