"I am a Florida-certified Math and ESE teacher with over 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience, currently teaching in Orange County Public Schools. I earned a Bachelor of Health Science with a minor in Education from the University of Florida and have worked with students across the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. I connect easily with students and meet them where they are—academically and emotionally—by adapting instruction to each student’s learning style, pace, and comfort level. I believe learning should be engaging, supportive, and even fun, especially for students who have struggled or lost confidence.
I have had particular success teaching middle school math, Algebra I, and Geometry, including both regular and intensive Geometry courses. In intensive Geometry, my students—who were in the lowest 25% academically within the school—achieved strong learning gains, with over 75% showing measurable growth. In 7th grade accelerated math (Pre-Algebra), almost half of my students earned the highest possible performance level, and the majority reached proficiency, demonstrating both strong academic growth and high achievement.
Currently, I work as a high school ESE support facilitator, supporting students in both math and English classes, helping them access grade-level curriculum, and writing and implementing IEPs. While my primary expertise is in math, I also support reading and English skills. In addition to my professional experience, I am the parent of four children with very different learning styles and abilities, including a child with Down syndrome, a child who required intensive academic support to graduate, and children who excelled academically. This combination of professional training and personal experience allows me to truly understand how differently students learn and how to adapt instruction to help each child succeed. you!" less...
