"I am a firm believer that Science and Math is not nearly as difficult as students perceive it to be. Sometimes all it takes is a different perspective to make the difference between hating a subject and understanding it. I know this process well, I graduated from Virginia Tech with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Leadership. I also was an EMT for 5 years. I have a wide variety of experience, from helping with the challenge of homeschooling to preparing students for standardized testing. My process involves first assessing the student's knowledge of the subject. From there I figure out where the gaps of knowledge are and why. I guide the student to understanding through concept learning as well as life long study stills that will help the student achieve in the future. No two students are the same and no two students learn the same, therefore flexibility is key for a student to learn effectively.
