"I have a Master's Degree in Special Education from Vanderbilt University and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies from Emory. My teaching experiences span pre-K through higher education. I have taught online, in classrooms, and as a tutor. The subjects I am most experienced in are health, anthropology, writing and editing, philosophy/ethics, history, and social science. I have tutored high school students and college students to prep for the SAT and GRE. I have also informally tutored nieces and nephews and my stepchildren in math, English, history, and other general education topics.

My teaching philosophy centers on ensuring students learn the subjects and grow in their critical thinking skills, all the rest is what I call 'fluff'. My background in special education and disability advocacy has instilled in me the belief that this 'fluff', or the status quo, can be challenged to ensure optimal learning.
