"I am currently completing my final year of medical school at Saint Louis University School of Medicine while applying for Internal Medicine Residency. I have expertise in numerous subjects and spent two years prior to medical school doing cancer immunotherapy research at the National Institutes of Health. In my personal life, I am an animal lover who enjoys spending their free time crocheting, dancing, cooking, playing video games, and hanging out with their cats.
Throughout my schooling I was always the friend that others turned to for help and advice for their courses. I have organized and led study sessions and as well helped other students individually. It is my philosophy that learning is not simply memorizing information but truly understanding it and thus I strive to help other find methods of processing and studying materials that work best for them to achieve this goal.
Through my college and research background I have taken many courses across the field of biology from genetics to immunology. This combined with the many hours I’ve spent in lab have allowed me to look at science from perspectives other than an academic one. This allows me to be able to explain the materials in different manners that may help students better understand. I have also had time and opportunities to try and develop many different learning and studying styles that I am happy to share with others!
Science should be explorative and interesting. Just because a subject or lesson is difficult or frustrating doesn’t mean that you’re bad at it, it just means that maybe it hasn’t been explained to you the right way yet or maybe you haven’t found the right learning or studying style for you yet. I’m more than happy to help you become a wonderful scientist!" less...
