"My name is Philippe. I am a native French speaker, born in France. I studied under the classical French educational system, graduating with a baccalaureate in French literature and philosophy at the Lycée Français de New York. I then completed a bachelor's degree in Asian Studies and modern languages (French, Spanish, Mandarin). After taking an early retirement from my career in international trade, I decided to focus my efforts on teaching and enrolled in S-TESL's post-graduate degree program as an L2 (second language) teacher. I have been teaching French intermediate conversation and advanced French conversation/literature at the Women's University Club in Seattle for the past five years. In addition I teach high school and adult students French and Spanish. I apply proven TPRS and CI methods in teaching my students. I have been a member of ACTFL (American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages) for the past six years.
