"Hi! My name is Art Conley; I am originally from Atlantic City, New Jersey, but grew up in central Texas and central Virginia (but my American English accent is TOTALLY normal, I promise!). I have been studying the French language for over 20 years now, which means that I have an intimate knowledge of not only the French language, but also of the many little annoying things that can plague a poor English-speaker trying to learn a beautiful language (le table? la table? why do tables have genders, anyway???). I have experience navigating the pitfalls of the French language, and I hope to share some of my tips and tricks with you!

For three years, I lived in France, teaching English in local middle schools and a local high school, as well as tutoring on the side: This time spent among French people, immersed in French culture, has given me a unique perspective on the language, one that I hope to share with you, as well! I will be able to guide you not only in proper French grammar and usage (as recommended by l'Académie Française), but we'll even be able to get into some French colloquialisms, some tried and true slang that the kids are using (spoiler: most of it is just English with a French accent).
