"Hi there, my name is KG. I've been interested in ASL and Deaf Culture since I was a teenager, and have been taking courses and interacting with the local Deaf community ever since. To date, I've finished ASL 1, 2, and 3 at Monte Vista High School with a Hearing teacher; then ASL 1, 2, and 3 again at University of Colorado, with two Deaf professors; then ASL 1-4 and ASL Linguistics using Lifeprint.com's more...

"Hi there, my name is KG. I've been interested in ASL and Deaf Culture since I was a teenager, and have been taking courses and interacting with the local Deaf community ever since. To date, I've finished ASL 1, 2, and 3 at Monte Vista High School with a Hearing teacher; then ASL 1, 2, and 3 again at University of Colorado, with two Deaf professors; then ASL 1-4 and ASL Linguistics using Lifeprint.com's online resources. Retaking classes from several different teachers has given me an amazing understanding of how signs and Deaf culture can vary between people and states. This varied understanding has also made it easy for me to adapt my tutoring to different students and classes, no matter where they are, or how their teacher chooses to teach.

As a full-time tutor, I've worked with families, school students, and adults of all ages; some of whom are currently in ASL classes, and some who are starting the language from scratch. I use lesson plans that include vocabulary, grammar, and culture worksheets, all of which I've designed myself, to get people signing at a conversational level quickly, easily, and while having lots of fun. I'm familiar with Signing Naturally coursebooks, Lifeprint.com, StartASL.com, ASL That, the BYU online program, and many other resources and teaching styles. In my free time, I go out to Deaf events and meetups to catch up with friends in the community, as well as improve my own fluency.

I'm sure it's obvious by now, but I think sign language is really cool, and really fun. And now I want to help give that same spark that has driven me to new and current ASL students. To share what I've learned, and help students make the most out of their classes, so that they might learn to love this language like I do.

If you're looking for friendly, enthusiastic, and personalized tutoring to help ignite that love of ASL that has driven me, contact me to set up some lessons! I'm available for online lessons for anyone across the country! Let's get signing!" less...
