"Hello! My name is Divya N. and I am currently a graduate from Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a B.A. in the History of Science, Medicine, and Technology. My positive, caring, and problem-based approach to learning seeks to encourage students to be patient with themselves as they work through problems, strengthening their concept understanding as they practice. My goal is to strengthen a student’s confidence in a subject they may be weak in, whether this be improving test and homework scores or fostering a love for that subject, hopefully both. Seeing a student rejoice after they master a particularly hard subject never fails to bring a smile to my face!

I have 6 years of tutoring experience in AP Calculus AB, Precalculus, and Algebra. Additionally, I extensively prepared for the ACT mathematics, science, and English sections, mastering test taking techniques. Having achieved a near perfect math and science score of 35, a perfect English score of 36, and a 99th percentile composite score of 35, I am confident in my ability to assist students on the ACT. I also look forward to supporting students through their college application process, having gone through undergrad admissions and MD admissions processes myself. I am well equipped to help with building a college list, essay planning, application timeline help, and essay editing.

Having a degree in biology, I am deeply passionate about the physical sciences and hold a special love for the life sciences. In high school, I took honors biology and AP Biology, and answered the SAT Molecular Biology Subject Test, receiving a perfect score of 800. I have further mastered this knowledge through coursework and lab work at Johns Hopkins University, and I will be pursuing my M.D. degree.
