"Hi! I'm Jodi, and I just retired after teaching high school English (and Creative Writing) for 31 years. I have a B.S. in English with a focus on literature analysis, and I have a Master's in administration. One of my favorite things about teaching was the one-on-one time I got with students, where I could really connect with them and help them see their strengths. I approach difficult assignments by breaking them down into smaller, understandable pieces and then helping my students connect those pieces to complete the puzzle.

I am incredibly patient, open-minded, and understanding. Rule #1 in my classroom was "Be kind," and I follow this rule. I will academically meet you where you are and do my absolute best to lead you to the place you need to be. Understanding students and treating them respectfully is key to helping them find success.

In TN, I am certified ELA grades 7-12, and I am highly qualified in the evaluation scale. My teaching experience was primarily grades 9 & 10, but I had juniors and seniors in my Creative Writing classes. I am very adept at explaining grammar concepts, analyzing literature, and proofreading papers.
