Later, when I was in college at Columbia University, I began to share my knowledge of physics. I have since taught physics and astronomy at the college level and tutored in basic math, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, chemistry, physics, astronomy, and SAT prep. In addition, I have earned a master's degree in educational psychology, as well as a graduate certificate in educational technology, from Rutgers University. This training has taught me how to most effectively teach students so that they develop not only a deep understanding of a particular subject, but also a stronger set of self-directed learning skills.
While I enjoy the classroom, I find that working with students one-on-one is the most effective way to help them learn. One of the greatest feelings is when I am able to help a student to experience one of those "light bulb" moments, when they finally, really get it. And then to watch them take it and run...
