"I have 4 years of experience tutoring students of Southern New Hampshire University in game programming and 3D art. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Game Art and Interactive Design, with a minor in Game and Simulation Programming.
I primarily work with clients in a 1:1 setting. A client generally will contact me about a problem with their project, and either in-person or over a video call, will show me this project so that I can provide real-time instruction based on their specific needs. I will usually guide the client through a debugging process to identify the root cause, discuss potential solutions to the problem, and then guide them through the process of implementing a solution. I've helped clients understand and deal with problems in academic, personal, and professional projects.
Oftentimes I have students that are looking for guidance when it comes to acting on open-ended feedback, which is especially common in academic settings where a professor requests a student to make changes to a project to improve their grade. In these scenarios, I have the student show me their project along with the rubric, typically over a video call or in-person, so that I can identify the exact reasons their project isn't meeting the rubric. Once the reasons for the student's marks have been identified, I discuss ways to make their project better fit the rubric, and guide them through the execution process in real-time.
In my four years tutoring college students in video game development courses, I've seen just about every obstacle one might run into with the industry-standard software used in professional game development, and I've taught every one of my students a set of basic techniques for dealing with these issues on their own.
I have a great deal of first-hand experience working with Unreal Engine, Unity, Visual Studio, Rider, Maya, Blender, Zbrush, Substance Painter, and Git, and I keep these skills sharp by participating in game jams locally and online." less...
