"I’m 23 years old and have been working in education for nine years, since my freshman year of high school. I love helping students feel confident in their learning. I’m a 2024 graduate of Davidson College, one of the top liberal arts colleges in the U.S., where I majored in PPE (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics) and minored in History. That background means I’m comfortable tutoring a wide range of subjects for 5th graders through high school, as well as helping high schoolers think through college prep and planning. Because I’m closer in age to my students than most tutors, I’m able to be both relatable and approachable while still setting clear expectations. I tutor part-time because I’m passionate about education, and it helps pay the bills while I get my music-tech startup off the ground.
My tutoring experience is both deep and varied. I worked at Kumon Math and Reading all four years of high school. There, I worked with students ages 3–18 and communicated closely with parents about progress and goals, and I also tutored middle school students independently.
I created and run a personal finance and financial literacy summer camp at my high school: I built the curriculum from scratch and have taught it for six years to more than 100 rising 7th and 8th graders. Today, I also mentor Davidson students who are interested in entrepreneurship and startups.
I also bring a personal understanding of ADHD. I have ADHD myself, and it’s been a real challenge to succeed in school. I’ve spent a lot of time researching ADHD, and I’ve worked with coaches/therapists to build systems that actually work. I’m excited to guide students who struggle with focus, organization, or motivation. My style is encouraging, patient, and practical: I break big tasks into manageable steps, help students create simple routines, and try to make the material feel relevant to their interests.
I’m happy to connect for a brief introductory conversation so we can discuss your student’s needs and see if we’re a good fit." less...
