"Hello all!

I'm Laura! I am a graduate of Georgetown University. I am a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. I am also certified in electronic fetal monitoring (EFM), basic life support (BLS), and neonatal resuscitation (NRP). I graduated with my BSN from the University of South Florida in 2016.

In both of my nursing programs, I enjoyed classes where my professors shared their real life experiences with patient care. I try to bring my own real-life experience as a nurse into my sessions. My goals are to help my students assess their learning style and to aid them in developing their clinical decision making skills. I also enjoy nursing research, evidence-based practice, and research writing. I am up to date on clinical nursing practice guidelines. My long term professional goal is to one day become a nursing professor. I began tutoring high school students through after school one-on-one sessions in Algebra and Biology for 2 years starting in 2012. More recently, I have focused on tutoring LPN and RN students on nursing content and test taking skills. I have realized that a strong understanding of clinical decision making is the key to success in any nursing curriculum.

I want my students to get the most of out of their sessions. I believe tutoring is most effective when you have had time to review the nursing content prior to our session. This way, we can dive into the higher level comprehension of the topic(s). If you are struggling with test taking we can work on that as well.
