"Former teacher turned GMAT tutor with a 750 score (perfect quant and IR scores).
David has always been fascinated by strategy and logic. When he was six, his family went on a vacation to Florida and he spent the entire trip studying chess openings on the beach. David studied chemical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he was on the Dean’s List multiple times. He currently runs business development and strategy for a medical device startup based out of the Harvard Innovation Lab.
During his junior year of college, David spent three months in Thailand creating science laboratory activities for impoverished rural schools; four of the experiments his team created were included in the national curriculum the following year. After graduation, David returned to Thailand and worked for the Office of the Princess, teaching English at one of the Princess’s schools and to her palace staff. David’s primary area of expertise is the GMAT exam where he scored a 750, including perfect scores on the quantitative and integrated reasoning sections. He is very knowledgeable about preparing for test day and helping students overcome test day jitters, enabling them to score as well on the actual exam as they do on their practice tests. In his free time, David enjoys hiking, playing poker with friends, traveling, and meditating.
David has tutored for multiple private companies where he has created significant positive results for his students. He helped Sarah, one of his former students, increase her score from 460 to 670 in 6 weeks by helping her overcome her fear of math and working on test day practices.
