"Hello! I am an art teacher in a local high school. I have 15 years of experience teaching in Harnett County Schools. I am a former Teacher of the Year during the 2006-2007 school year. I attended East Carolina University on a Teaching Fellows Scholarship. I have been tutoring students since I entered college in 1997.

I love teaching and tutoring students! It gives me satisfaction to see how students grow as they learn material they know, or have trouble learning. Once I see how students improve or learn new things, I know immediately that I have changed their lives in some way. As a teacher, I feel that I have accomplished great things by helping students who have difficulty learning.

I have helped students who believe they can't draw become artists by teaching them ways to break complicated things down into basic shapes and forms, and gradually adding more details and shading. "Practice makes perfect" is a saying I live by when teaching my students to become artists.
