"Hello! My name is Jessica. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Texas, with a major in Educational Psychology and a minor in Psychology. Following my undergraduate career, I was accepted into the graduate program at the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas.
As a tutor, areas of specialization include the following: Psychology, Early Childhood Development, Human Development & Family Studies, Cognition, Neuroscience, and all aspects of English (e.g., written expression, reading comprehension, proofreading, editing, APA formatting, assistance with grammar and/or spelling, etc.). All subjects are taught between the High School to Graduate-Level. Overall, I genuinely enjoy tutoring and am highly accommodating of students’ unique learning styles and cognitive strengths, remaining sensitive regarding any individual student’s personal area of relative academic weakness.
With respect to my credentials, I maintained a 4.0 GPA in all undergraduate psychology coursework (18 advanced hours) and scored above the 90th percentile on the Psychology Subject GRE. On the GRE, I scored within the 95th and 88th percentiles in Verbal Reasoning and Analytical Writing, respectively. Subsequent to obtaining my undergraduate diploma, I worked as a neuropsychological technician for 3 years at a private neuropsychology clinic. Thereafter, I was accepted into graduate school; as a student at UTD’s School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (majoring in Psychological Sciences with coursework emphasis in Neuroscience and Cognition), I have thus far completed 3 semesters of doctoral-level coursework at full-time status, while working a minimum of 10 hours/week as a researcher at the Schizophrenia and Social Cognition Lab. Further, I have co-authorship on a peer-reviewed journal article published in Nature.
I look forward to hearing from you and working together! If you would like to schedule a lesson, please contact me at any time." less...
