"Hello! I am an accomplished finance executive with a Harvard MBA and a passion for teaching! I have extensive academic training and decades of experience in the fields of both finance and accounting – and I run my own finance advisory business, Martin Business Advisors LLC

Teaching has been a lifelong passion -- and I want to do more of it. I founded a tutoring organization when I was an investment banker in my 20’s (The Volunteer Teachers Organization), which paired up young bankers with underprivileged elementary school kids in need of extra academic attention. I ran the organization -- and participated as a tutor for two years. And now, whenever I get the chance, I try to share the skills that I have learned and developed over the years. I currently mentor multiple underprivileged young adults who are looking to start businesses. My interest in teaching and mentoring is so strong, that I want to make it a more central part of my life – hence my application today.

I believe that I bring a very valuable combination of assets to this endeavor. I have very relevant academic training, with a BA in Economics from Williams College and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard. I also have decades of finance experience in banking, venture capital, management consulting, and running my own finance advisory business. My teaching method is highly collaborative and Socratic. I like to guide students with questions, thus helping them to solve not only the problem at hand, but to develop the skills to solve subsequent problems. I have taught people as young as 15 and as old as 40. I am perfectly comfortable in a classroom setting, office setting, or online.
