"Hi, I’m Larry! I graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in Molecular Biology and a minor in Bioengineering. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences at Harvard Medical School, where my research focuses on targeted protein degradation in the contexts of cancer and autoimmune diseases. My education has provided me with an extensive background for tutoring various subjects, with specific expertise in STEM fields and particularly biology.
I have been tutoring for nearly a decade in a variety of fields. In high school, I first began mentoring K-12 kids in math and English while working at a well known tutoring facility. In college, I tutored several high school students in AP Biology, Science Olympiad subjects, as well as ACT math/science prep. Throughout my time at Princeton and Harvard, I have also searched as a teaching assistant for the classes “Organic Chemistry I & II,” “Laboratory in Molecular Biology,” and “Principles of Molecular Biology”
Throughout my time working as a tutor, I have come to recognize many different modalities of learning and how some students may prefer one modality over others. In this sense, I like to take a very individualized approach for each student and tailor the curriculum based on their needs and what modes of learning work best for them. This is one aspect that I believe is important to establish by the end of the first session, as well as discussing each student’s personal goals and timeline. I hope to equip each student with an extensive range of tools and strategies that they can adapt and apply to other subjects so that they can continue to succeed beyond our tutoring sessions. Please feel free to reach out to schedule a tutoring session by clicking the “Contact” button, and I am happy to chat further about any questions or concerns." less...
