"I am a current junior at the College of William and Mary majoring in biochemistry. I take successfully taken molecular biology, general chemistry, and organic chemistry with an A. Furthermore, I serve as the Teacher's Assistant for Molecular Biology, Introduction Biology, and Organic Chemistry. I work at the schools tutoring offices and will become College Reading and Learning Association certified at the end of this month.

I have found for topics such as biology the best method to learn is drawing. Biology can be overwhelming and often requires an understanding of the function. Drawing allows students to demonstrate previous knowledge and builds neurological pathways that help retain information. In courses like chemistry, a touch of creativity is needed. Practice will always be helpful, but blunt memorization can only work so far. Chemistry requires the ability to pieces of a puzzle coming together to form a shape. I help students break down the information they will need to know and help them become less overwhelmed by the process. Once they are able to take a step back, problems are easier to approach and solve in smaller pieces.

I have tutored mostly at the college level, but I am comfortable tutoring at the highschool level as well. I have held my position as TA for approximately a year, and have helped in both group and individual settings as needed.
