"Hello! My name is Kathleen. I am a current educator, teaching 5th grade students in person. I grew up with a parent who was a teacher and have always had a passion for education. I tutored elementary students as a high school student, taught as a an assistant Pre-K teacher as well as held the parent educator and event coordinator position for the building while also working as a full time student to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I also have experience teaching 4th, 1st, and 5th grade students. I can't wait to meet your life long learner!

I am currently a 5th grade general education teacher where I have received staff of the month two years in a row. I have teaching experience in grades: Pre-K, 1st, 4th, and 5th. I taught Pre-K students full time as an assistant teacher at the Rend Lake College Foundation Children's Center for 5 years while simultaneously holding the position of Parent Educator and Event Coordinator as well as working toward my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education as a full time student. After graduating with a Bachelor's in Education I was hired at St. Mary Parochial School to teach 4th grade. I then transferred to Mount Vernon City Schools where I taught first grade for one year and am now on my second year of teaching fifth grade. I have experience teaching English language learners, gifted and talented students, as well as students who receive special education services.
