"I hold a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Georgia Tech, where I graduated with Highest Honors (top 10% of my class). I also competed in the National Chemistry Olympiad, placing 2nd out of 365 students in regional competition and qualifying to compete at the national level.

For the past five years, I have tutored students in one-on-one and small-group settings, primarily from 8th grade through college seniors. My tutoring includes high school and college chemistry, a range of chemical engineering courses, and high school math.

During college, I built a structured approach to learning complex material and solving problems. That is the same approach I teach in tutoring sessions. I focus on helping students visualize what’s happening, understand where key concepts come from, and use reliable problem-solving methods rather than memorizing facts and steps. I also tailor explanations to each student by learning their interests and using clear analogies that make the material feel intuitive. One student improved from failing practice scores to confidently passing the NYS Chemistry Regents exam in just 3 one hour sessions. Other students tell me the material “clicks” more clearly and they feel less anxious during tests because they understand both the concepts and how to approach problems.

When I start with a new student, I begin by asking questions to identify gaps in understanding and the specific goals for the course or exam. From there, I create a plan for our sessions and for practice between sessions so we use time efficiently and make steady progress. I focus on building intuition for key concepts and developing problem solving strategies to approach different groups of problems. I communicate quickly and thoroughly, and I encourage students to message me with questions so we can stay on track.

My goal is to provide effective, supportive tutoring in chemistry, chemical engineering, and math so students build confidence and real understanding." less...
