"Educational Background:
I graduated from the University of Connecticut in May 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in both Economics and Political Science, with a minor in Human Rights. Throughout my academic career, I developed strong skills in writing, reading comprehension, research, and political analysis. My coursework involved extensive academic writing, critical reading, and communication, which I am passionate about helping students improve.
Tutoring and Teaching Experience:
I have over four years of informal tutoring and mentoring experience, working with students ranging from ages 10 to 22. I’ve provided one-on-one and small group support in reading, spelling, writing, and social studies. This includes helping students with essay writing, reading comprehension, spelling practice, and test preparation.
During my time as an Arts Administration intern at the Yale School of Art, I also mentored students through application writing, artist statements, and professional communication. My approach is patient, supportive, and tailored to meet each student’s needs. I focus on building confidence, breaking down concepts, and making learning approachable.
For writing, I guide students through brainstorming, outlining, and refining their ideas. For reading and spelling, I use phonetics-based techniques, comprehension exercises, and vocabulary-building strategies, adjusting my methods based on each student’s learning style.
Contextual Details:
My teaching and tutoring experience has taken place in both academic and community-based settings, working with diverse learners and helping students overcome academic challenges. I enjoy creating a safe, encouraging space for students to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow." less...
