"I love helping students build confidence in math! Over the years I’ve developed an ability to break down tricky concepts in a way that actually makes sense. With a strong foundation in mathematics and a passion for education, I bring both academic expertise and hands-on experience to my role as a math tutor. I studied mechanical engineering as an undergrad and aerospace engineering as a grad student, which gave me a solid background in everything from basic math through advanced topics like algebra, geometry, and calculus. I also taught high school Math and Physics for several years. For the past 20+ years, I’ve worked with students of all ages, from elementary through high school and college, helping them catch up, excel, and overall feel more comfortable with math.

I’ve tutored in a mix of settings, including one-on-one sessions and small groups, both in-person and online. My approach is very flexible; I meet students where they are and adjust my teaching style to what works best for them. Whether that’s using step-by-step explanations, visual examples, or lots of practice problems, my goal is always to make math less intimidating and more approachable. I love seeing those “lightbulb moments” when something finally clicks, and I work hard to create a friendly, encouraging space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
