"Hi! I’m Dr. Mary!
I’m excited for the opportunity to work with your PreK–Grade 3 child.
With a strong foundation in early literacy and reading instruction across all grade levels, I specialize in helping young learners (PreK through Grade 3) build the skills and confidence they need to learn! Whether your child needs an academic boost or supportive tutoring for special needs, I’m here to help!
I bring both passion and expertise to every session. My background includes classroom teaching experience, National Board Certification, curriculum design, and leading professional development in literacy instruction.
As a consultant for the Virginia Department of Education, I supported teacher development and instructional growth, helping educators improve their practice and student outcomes.
I’ve also designed and implemented before- and after-school programs and tutoring initiatives that address a wide range of student needs, from academic enrichment to targeted support to help students meet or exceed grade-level benchmarks.
I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of learners, including exceptional students, children with special needs, and those who benefit from individualized instruction.
My approach is child-centered, nurturing, engaging, backed by progress monitoring and timely communication with families. Above all, it will be FUN!
I bring boundless energy, creativity, and patience to every session, and I use positive reinforcement to help build confidence and motivation.
I would love to help with your child’s learning and I’d be happy to share my resume upon request." less...
