I find the connection between teacher/tutor and student to be incredibly meaningful and important. I really try to understand the students with whom I work, both personally and academically, and I am honest and share about myself as well, always within the boundaries of a professional relationship. It's crucial to me that students see me as an ally and guide, not as a taskmaster or punitive force. I individualize my instruction to meet the needs of those working with me, as no two students are exactly the same, and all people work better and more authentically when they know they can bring their true selves into their learning experiences.
I can help students with all tasks relevant within humanities classes at the middle and high school level, and I can bring existing supportive resources or create new ones to provide tangible guidelines and ensure that the skills work we do is transferable beyond our sessions." less...
